We stayed 2 nights recently and will be back next year. Rooms were clean and functional, showers powerful. Can be accessed via the side lane and no pub noise as they stand back from it. Pub staff really friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent.

Really nice Thai food, the curries are superb. They also sell a great range of other good, the fish and chips is good. The lady who always seems to be behind the bar is always very pleasant and helpful. A really nice old pub, with a lovely log fire on cold days.

We shared a lunchtime starters platter 3 for price of 2 weekday deal and it was very nice. Salt n Pepper squid and Thai fishcakes were particularly good, fresh and zingy. All prepared in house we were told. Nice old pub building too if if just want a drink.

First visit tonight for dinner but definitely wont be the last. Lovely food both English and Thai and very friendly staff. Added bonus was the fact that the place is dog friendly. Thirteen year old son wants a special shout out for the sweet and sour chicken which he said was really, really nice - high praise it's his favourite.

Excellent venue in the centre of Ringwood. Very welcome staff in a pretty environment either for eating/drinking and for overnighting. I have been there for a night but I will come back here all times I will be again in Ringwood. And next time I hope to get there earlier I'm time to have a dinner. Very good!

Now more than ever pubs like the Star deserve your support. With a friendly welcome, an authentic environment, walking the right side of pastiche all the while whilst being independent of brewery or Inn co. I believe that the Star is a great example of the British pub. The beer is well kept, there's always a guest or two on, and the Thai food is still exceptional even as it is no longer a suprise. If you're in Ringwood do visit, and if you're near Ringwood it's well worth the trip. --- My previous review --- The Star has become a firm favourite amongst staff at work. Just the right balance of friendly staff, great atmosphere, and good beer mean that when lunchtime drinks are on the agenda, the Star is where we'll head. The Thai food on offer is also top notch, great value, and great quality.

Nothing to fault. Booked a one night getaway, for the price we paid we can't find any faults. Check in by a lovely friendly lady behind the bar, room was not pretentious but clean, furnished & decorated traditionally, had everything we needed for our little escape. We didn't eat here but the food smells amazing and the amount of people eating proved its popularity. Ringwood is a lovely little town and I'm already to book my next escape here.
